Arborvitae Bonsai 7 years 6 months ago # I recently collected an arborvitae and was told they don't make very good Bonsai. Not the best for bonsai, but not impossible. Google some pictures. Some people I've talked to, say any tree can be trained to be Bonsai. It is important to make sure that any repotting or root pruning is done at the right time of year. If a tree lives through the “purgatory”, it gets to form a line at the pearly gates of bonsai heaven.
